![]() ![]() ![]() It should make those who love The Nightmare Before Christmas universe happy, as we finally get a standalone Sally Skellington adventure. I found Long Love the Pumpkin Queen to be a really fast and entertaining read. It’s helpful to re-watch the movie before starting Long Live the Pumpkin Queen but not necessary as author Shea Ernshaw does a good job of setting the scene in spooky Halloween Town. She often thinks about how she doesn’t deserve her new life and she is still quite fearful of Doctor Finklestein in the beginning of the novel. Long Live the Pumpkin Queen is a delightful story with Sally into the main character role despite her imposter syndrome. Sally eventually descends into Dream Town where she has to figure out how to stop The Sandman and save all the people in Halloween Town and beyond. ![]() This book is for anyone who needs to feel strong. Women come up against so much adversity and I found that Shaun's book proved that your story *is* your strength – you're not strong despite the things you've been through, you're strong because of them. 'The book is about 7 'superpowers' that will help you feel stronger, dig deeper and live as the best version of yourself. I had followed the author, Shaun, for a while but had never realised he was gay – the fact that he's so successful in his field but doesn't pigeonhole himself into only talking about his sexuality is inspiring to me as an LGBTQ+ athlete myself. He has always been destined in his actions to attain what was right through right moral path. The depiction of Douglass’s ethical character is done by showing that despite of all the hardships and sufferings he has faced, he never ever took over the wrong side to attain his objectives. As his legion of fans know, McCammon has written a number of outstanding horror/thriller novels, including "Swan Song", "They Thirst", "Boy's Life", "Stinger", and "Gone South", just to name a few. As I read, I wasn't sure what to expect because this book was so unlike most of the others of his that I have enjoyed over the past 20 years. I found myself frustrated, depressed, inspired, & enthralled at various times as I worked through the novel. "The Five" is a book that will elicit a number of different emotions from its readers. ![]() ![]() ![]() She’s also aware that there is something vacuous about the art game. In this story of a diminished family, sharp and tender emotional truths hit home. And as the country moves from old deep divisions to its new so-called fairer society, the lost promise of more than just one family hovers behind the novel’s title. The narrator’s eye shifts and blinks: moving fluidly between characters, flying into their dreams deliciously lethal in its observation. After years of service, Salome was promised her own house, her own land… yet somehow, as each decade passes, that promise remains unfulfilled. The complexities of their relationship include memories of being forced to lie for him on the telephone, which has developed in her an aversion to using the telephone. Her life has been influenced and colored by her experiences with an alcoholic father. Because of her sense of loyalty and responsibility, she takes on burdens that a teen should not have to shoulder. The overriding theme is Jenna's growing realization about herself and who she is. Bauer addresses several themes in Rules of the Road: complex parent-child relationships, adversity, self-esteem, loyalty, responsibility, and growing up. ![]() ![]() ![]() an increased insulin dose may be needed, which should be undertaken carefully to minimise the risk of hypoglycaemia or hyperglycaemia. ![]() after stopping dapagliflozin treatment, frequent blood glucose monitoring is recommended.dapagliflozin should be reviewed and discontinued in patients with type 1 diabetes by or in consultation with a physician specialised in diabetes care as soon as clinically practical. ![]() |
